Getting to Know Your Sewing Machine

ARTCRAFT 1376, Course Code: 9087

Don't let your sewing machine just sit there; put it to good use. This class teaches you how to stitch a blind hem, make buttonholes, insert a zipper and mend and stretch stitches. You'll also learn basic machine maintenance techniques to keep your machine in tip-top running condition. Bring your own machine (in good running condition) and if available, the manual and attachments. Your instructor will help you learn how to use the accessories in your attachment box.

Course Fee:

You will need to bring your sewing machine, power cord, book and attachments to each class. In addition, you will need a yard of fabric (scraps will do but solid colors work the best), one spool of contrasting all-purpose cotton polyester thread, contrasting zipper (7-9"), one two-hole button, 1/2 yard (18") of elastic 1/2 to 3/4 inch wide. Don't forget an empty bobbin for your machine and basic sewing supplies such as pins, seam ripper, scissors, tape measure and a box to hold your small items. Please make sure your sewing machine is in working order.
