The Illinois Department of Public Health Food Sanitation Code (section 750.540) requires food service establishments to be under the operational supervision of a certified food service sanitation manager. This course meets the 8-hour coursework and examination required by the State of Illinois for either the initial Food Service Sanitation Managers Certification or the recertification, which is required every five years. Topics include introduction to food safety, contamination, employee health and hygiene, safe food handling, cleaning and sanitizing and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP). After successful completion of this course, you will need to pay an additional $35 to the Department of Public Health to receive your certificate.
