Meetings, expositions, events and conventions (MEEC) is a growing industry in this country, as well as abroad. This course offers a comprehensive overview of the key elements of this global industry: meeting and convention venues, destination management organizations, service contractors, special events management, budgeting, marketing and producing MEEC gatherings, legal issues, technology and international issues of MEEC. Real-life case studies offer practical application of concepts and best practices. If you're interested in becoming a meeting/event planner for a corporation, educational institution, professional association, visitor's bureau, convention or conference center or working in fundraising for non-profit organizations, this class is for you.
