Good Movie, Bad Science - Grades 2-6

SCIENCE 1045, Course Code: 6344

Spend the day out of school watching movies and finding science! Many top-grossing movies are science fiction. While entertaining, the science in these movies is sometimes wrong. Become a sci-fi movie critic (with movie snippets) and identify what is right and what is wrong in these films. Design and implement science demonstrations that debunk the bad science. Then, create your own exciting sci-fi adventure that gets the science right! This program is open to youth in grades 2-6. Bring a lunch and if you have food allergies, please bring snacks as well. Unit 5 is out of school on February 17. District 87 is out of school February 21.
